What you’ll do:
- Work in full costume to entertain Aquarium, guests of all ages, during shows and meet-and-greet experiences.
- Deliver fun and entertaining performances during scripted shows and improvisational interactions with guests during daily activities and games.
- Maintain show quality standards, which excite and impress guests, as well as cleanliness, crowd control, and guest safety in all show venues.
- Perform scheduled shows and character performances.
- Complete daily program reports.
- Maintain character costume, including cleaning and daily maintenance in accordance with provided guidelines.
- Escort costume characters during shows and/or meet & greet experiences and assist costume characters with dressing and undressing as needed.
- Adhere to given dialogue and communication, always maintaining show and character integrity.
- Assist the Guest Experience department with other interpretative duties as needed.
- Support Adventure Aquarium’s overall guest experience through excellent guest service and provide operational support as needed.
This role requires wearing a 15lb, large body costume, head, and feet, working in heat, direct sunlight, cold, humidity, and temperature change for up to 45-minute intervals (up to 6 hrs./shift), and the ability to perform specific choreographed movements.

What you’ll bring:
- Six months – 1 year customer service experience
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, with a strong preference for availability Thursday through Sunday.
- Friendly, outgoing, and proactive individual
- Mascot or character experience preferred
- Theater or acting experience a plus

- Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with the ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment.
- Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop, walk long distances
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear 15 pounds of costume weight for long periods of time
