Responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of master data related to our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data management, supply chain processes, and a meticulous approach to ensuring data quality. The Specialist will be able to lead projects and relationships with external parties and internal customers, to assist in training junior Specialists, and to create documentation and training guides. This role will handle transactional data and price exception data maintenance. Working with other groups within the organization (Accounts Payable, Sourcing, Procurement) and outside the organization (Suppliers) to maintain the accuracy of our PO data, contact data, and Workday ERP price data.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take a lead role in the creation, maintenance, and governance of supply chain master data, ensuring alignment with established data standards and policies.
- Regularly perform data quality assessments, identifying discrepancies, anomalies, and inconsistencies in master data. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to rectify issues promptly.
- Accurately input and validate critical supply chain data in various systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy to support downstream processes.
- Document master data management procedures, guidelines, and best practices to ensure a consistent and standardized approach across the supply chain function.
- Collaborate with teams including procurement, logistics, planning, and finance to understand data requirements and ensure accurate data flow across the supply chain lifecycle.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Provide training and support to junior data specialists and end-users to promote data management best practices and ensure consistent data entry and maintenance.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data management processes and contribute to the development and implementation of improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License/Registration/Certification Required: Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, supply chain or finance required or 3 years of direct relevant work experience in healthcare supply chain will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in healthcare field can be used in lieu of degree within noted field of study.
Experience Required: Typically requires three years’ experience working in contracting, group purchasing organization, procurement, or supply chain in a healthcare setting. Non-healthcare industry experience will be considered in lieu of direct healthcare experience. Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to manipulate and maintain key master data within common ERP platforms.
- Strong Excel skills for manipulation of data and preparation of uploads.
- Able to communicate complex ideas to a variety of stakeholders.
- Some understanding of relational databases.

- This position requires limited travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
