We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our client's Power & Infrastructure Department in Voorhees, NJ. We immediately need an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client by providing industry-leading design and consulting services to our clients. Our client is also focused on designing and delivering innovative, resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy infrastructure solutions for their clients.
The successful candidate will be a Mid-level Mechanical Engineer with experience designing mechanical systems for power generation, central utility plants and combined heat and power. Perform mechanical design engineering functions as required depending on project requirements and objectives, including design of mechanical systems,
equipment specification and equipment selection, 3D design of mechanical systems. Serve as Engineer of
Record as required. Support Project Manager, proposal writing and working with the client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop mechanical engineering design, analysis and calculations within the scope of the assigned project
• Develop accurate 2D/3D computer models for equipment systems
• Specify and select mechanical equipment for power generation, industrial frame combustion turbines, internal combustion engines, chiller systems, boilers and heat recovery, cooling systems, pumping systems, piping and valves
• Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget.
• Perform design, layout, and checking of mechanical drawings to ensure the technical correctness 2of the drawings using the applicable job, state, and federal codes.
• Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings and provide field construction support as required.
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, including design of mechanical systems, including chilled
water systems, heat recovery, industrial turbines, internal combustion engines, pumping systems,
cooling systems
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering codes: ASME VIII, ASME B31.1 and B31.1, NFPA
• Knowledge of power plant processes, operations and economics
• Knowledge of construction requirements and piping.
• Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements.
• Strong working knowledge and utilization of Autocad, Revit experience is a plus.
• Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
• Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent communication skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and have strong
technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations
and reports.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Five to seven years of professional experience with proven progression in mechanical engineering for
power generation, central utility plants, combined heat and power.
• Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementing Building
Information Modeling (BIM).
• PE licensure
