Electrical Technician (3rd Shift - rotating shift)

Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a large client in the food and beverage package manufacturing industry looking to hire an Electrical Technician! The position is 3rd shift, rotating shift, and the company is looking for a more mid-senior level electrician/technician who will be the only electrician on nights.
Responsibilities
As an Electronic Technician at Pactiv Evergreen, this individual will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of the facility. The technician is responsible for promptly addressing and resolving electrical breakdowns and performing proactive maintenance tasks, including rebuilding cabinets and conducting other cabinet work. Their involvement in various projects includes training and return initiatives, DC replacements, motor switch-outs, drive upgrades, supporting rebuilds, and creating 1-line drawings. They will work with a range of equipment, such as thermoforming lines (they have 8), extruders, forming machines, trim presses, grinders, auxiliary equipment, outside silos, chillers, towers, European printers (they have 6), and labeling machines (they have 2).
In this role, the technician provides technical support for relay controllers, heaters, thermoforming trim presses, hydraulics, and pneumatics, and assists the mechanical team as needed. While initially not required to train others, they will eventually be expected to train colleagues on troubleshooting electrical issues. Additionally, they perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and building facilities, install and repair electrical systems and components, and work with AC & DC drives, instrumentation, transducers, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls. Understanding and following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications is essential, as is using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. The technician tests electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance, conducts preventive maintenance programs, and keeps accurate maintenance records. Furthermore, they may install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required, and assist and train production employees in the proper operation and maintenance of machinery.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to read electrical schematics and controls schematics
- Experience troubleshooting Industrial Automation Equipment up to 480V
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems and understand their components
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) - ABB and Allen-Bradley primarily
- Ability to work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of electrical controls including relay controllers, heaters, and thermoforming trim presses.
- Proficiency with AC& DC motors and Drives
Nice-to-Have:
- Journeyman Electrical License: Highly preferred for candidates to have a journeyman electrical license, as it signifies a higher level of expertise and qualification.
- Thermoforming Experience: Experience working specifically with thermoforming lines.
- Instrumentation Skills: Experience in maintaining and calibrating industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Equipment Proficiency:
- Familiarity with extruders, forming machines, trim presses, grinders, auxiliary equipment, outside silos, chillers, and towers
- Experience with European printers and labeling machines.
- Project Experience: Previous experience in training and return initiatives.
- Advanced Technical Skills: Familiarity with transducers and advanced hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
- Automation Experience: Background in automation systems and related controls.
- Proactive Maintenance: Demonstrated experience in proactive maintenance, particularly rebuilding cabinets and conducting cabinet work.
- Servo- drive experience primarily with Rexroth/Indramat
- Controls experience; PID controllers, RTDs, thermocouples, control valves, pressure transmitters, and weigh cells
