Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a growing medical device manufacturer here in Indianapolis, IN who is seeking a highly skilled Plant Engineer to focus on capital expenditure projects and maintenance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Maintenance Management, Facilities Maintenance, and Capital Expenditure projects. In this role, you will ensure the efficient and safe operation of plant equipment and systems, manage facility infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure optimal performance, uptime, and reliability of production equipment and systems.
- Develop and enforce maintenance procedures and standards in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track, schedule, and report on maintenance activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, lighting, and building security.
- Coordinate facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the smooth operation of all facility-related systems.
- Oversee facility upgrades, repairs, and troubleshooting to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Capital Expenditure Projects:
- Lead the planning and execution of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects to improve facility operations, equipment upgrades, and expansions.
- Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource requirements while ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Manage the procurement process for new equipment and systems, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, production, quality assurance) for successful project execution.
- Monitor project performance and ensure that CapEx projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancements.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to improve equipment reliability and facility operations.
- Drive initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact across facility operations.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance and engineering activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and company policies.
- Lead efforts to maintain a safe working environment, including ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and safe for operation.
- Conduct safety training and participate in safety audits to improve plant safety performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 5 years of experience in a plant engineering or maintenance management role within the medical device manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance management systems, and facilities maintenance.
- Proven experience managing capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with FDA, ISO 13485, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in CMMS, project management software, and MS Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Strong understanding of clean room environments and controlled manufacturing conditions.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
