QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend routine information, write legibly, and make basic arithmetic calculations. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License and an acceptable driving record. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be neat and clean in appearance and able to converse with the general public. Knowledge of streets and roads in the Company service area and the ability to read and interpret maps is desirable. All other qualifications, such as physical fitness, attendance, safety, and performance records will be considered.
Additional consideration will be given for the following job related training or experience:
(a) Experience in meter reading and associated functions;
(b) Experience or knowledge of Customer Information System;
(c) Knowledge of streets and roads in the Company's service area; and
(d) Any other qualifications contributing to the applicant's ability to perform the job.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Working independently, calls on customer premises to leave warning notices or disconnect service for non-payment.
Performs duties such as:
1. Analyzing customer credit information to determine whether a warning notice or disconnection of service is appropriate;
2. Discussing account arrears with customer and leaving a warning notice or disconnecting service;
3. Checking for various irregularities such as meter tampering; and
4. Reporting pertinent information in connection with the work.
5. In addition to the primary duties listed above, the employee may be called upon to perform other work as circumstances require.
Must know and comply with all Company safety and health policies and procedures applicable to work performance.
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, from 7 30 AM to 3 30 PM.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Outdoor work required in various types of weather as well as indoor work in clean, well-lighted, heated, and ventilated surroundings.
