Work Arrangement
This position is fulltime, onsite, working the AWS (alternative work schedule), M-Th 6:30am to 5:00pm with the opportunity for OT depending on project needs.
Job Overview
As an Airframe Structures Technician at AEVEX Aerospace, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our aircraft. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting the maintenance, repair, and modification of various aircraft structures, including wings, fuselages, and other critical components. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Essential Functions
- Understand machine shop safety procedures, including the use of band saws, belt sanders, shears, etc.
- Properly use hand and air tools including die grinder, rivet guns and offset drilling
- Attach structural parts and assemblies using riveting, bucking, hand/power tools, hand trim and finish
- Understand fastener identification and proper fastener processes
- Read and understand drawings
- Assist experienced technicians to gain hands on experience with basic repairs
- Follows all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment
- Ensures that all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best practice
- Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies
- Ability to learn and use a variety of hand tools and shop equipment for maintenance and or repair of aircraft
- Some knowledge of aircraft hardware, sheet metal materials and processes
- Ability to identify, install and remove common aircraft fasteners, or learn if not experienced
- Ability to read and understand written text
- Ability to read and understand prints and layouts, or learn if not experienced
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently with team members, independently, and cross-functionally.
- Strong work ethic and integrity
Education / Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 0-3 years related work experience
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) schooling or military aircraft experience a plus
