The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in supporting our accounting team by providing essential financial services and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and tax returns.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct and assist with client audits, ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments.
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files, including general ledger entries, expense reports, and bank reconciliations.
- Provide administrative support and assist with other accounting tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding audit progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and professional ethics standards.
Must-haves:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles, email marketing best practices, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with governmental audits or not-for-profit accounting is a plus.
