Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This position requires a strong background in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting, along with proficiency in accounting software such as Xero.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, including accounts payable, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and ensure timely regulatory reporting in compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the forecasting process to support budget planning and resource allocation.
- Ensure accuracy in debits and credits across all financial transactions.
- Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in financial analysis techniques and tools.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
