AgReserves, Inc. is seeking a highly effective Procurement Manager to support and provide strategic alignment between the Canyon Falls Farm operations, the Row Crop division, and corporate headquarters. The Procurement Manager deliver world-class customer service, strategic sourcing savings, and continuous improvement of procurement systems and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strategic partner relationships with key suppliers.
- Evaluate and select vendors based on capabilities, performance, and consistent quality.
- Obtain procurement of capital spend items, strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Analyze spend for key categories such as chemicals, fertilizer, equipment, etc.
- Partner with finance and operations on planning, analyzing spend, and forecasting future requirements to align business needs with system capability.
- Lead formal and informal solicitations and negotiate subsequent purchasing contracts.
- Champion implementation and integration of procurement systems and tools.
- Provide system training to customers and stakeholders as key subject-matter-expert.
- Regularly map and measure procure-to-pay process to increase quality throughput.
- Develop and implement meaningful metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) in efforts to deliver desired results and outcomes for customers.
- Conduct regular market analysis, in addition to auditing and monitoring purchasing activities to identity unique opportunities for cost savings and proactive compliance.
- Set direction and coach procurement team to deliver world-class customer service. Plan and evaluate performance of assigned staff including personal development goals.
- Monitor and supervise all procurement activities within assigned areas of responsibility to make sure all procurement activity is done in accordance with the approved delegation of authority.
- Assist with development of procurement business rules, policy, standards, and guidance.
- Gather customer feedback to ensure procurement is reducing risk and adding value to operations, and customer expectations are met in terms of quality, performance, and value.
- Continue to increase understanding of Ag industries and operations through continued education and site visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or equivalent certification.
- 5 years experience in purchasing and supply chain management in agriculture-based business, equipment, materials, etc.
- Strong reporting and technical/systems skills. Familiar with Inventory or Warehouse Mgmt Systems and/or ERP tools.
- Strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Bilingual/literate in Spanish helpful.
- Broad knowledge of purchasing practices, legal applications, computer experience, and financial analysis.
- Experience in process improvement using Six Sigma or similar quality assurance discipline.
- Able to work overtime and travel 25-50% to various office/farm locations.
