Position: Donor Relations Associate

Reports to: Director of Development

Salary Range: $48,000 - $58,000 annually

Status: This is a full time, non-exempt position.

Location: Hybrid. This role requires you to reside in the greater Seattle area and work in-office at least three days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days. Occasional additional in-person meetings may be required.

Founded in 1984, Agros International is a faith-based non-profit organization that breaks the cycle of poverty for farming families in rural Central America through economic and social opportunities. Agros creates a pathway from poverty to prosperity by advancing opportunities for land ownership, market-led agriculture, financial empowerment, and health and well-being. Over the past 36 years Agros has partnered with 45 rural communities in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Mexico impacting the lives of over 12,000 people.


Position Summary:

This role supports relationship managers and executive leadership in fostering relationships with major donors and foundations while contributing to Agros' overarching fundraising goals. Additionally, this position oversees general donor campaigns, supports institutional relationships, and assists with donor travel logistics, aligning efforts with Agros' mission and values. The successful candidate will understand and respect the faith-based motivation that drives many of our donors and staff to support Agros’ work.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Major Donor Support and Stewardship

• Assist relationship managers by coordinating and maintaining effective communication with major donors.

• Organize, attend, and facilitate major donor events (both in-person and virtual), ensuring high levels of engagement and post-event follow-up.

• Oversee all logistics related to direct mail campaigns. 2. Proposal and Report Development

• Under direction of relationship managers, draft tailored and timely proposals, presentations, and impact reports that highlight Agros' achievements and align with donors' values.

• Collaborate with program and communications teams to gather up-to-date data and compelling impact stories for donor reports and proposals. 3. Collaboration and Administrative Support

• Work closely with the Development team and cross-functional teams (e.g., Programs, Communications, Finance) to ensure coordinated donor engagement efforts.

• Prepare background materials, briefing information, and agendas for meetings with major donors and senior leadership.

• Assist with donor recognition events and other initiatives that support major donor engagement.

• Assist with budget management for fundraising activities, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

• Handle administrative tasks related to the major donor program, including scheduling meetings, processing donations, recognizing donors, maintaining organized records, and ensuring accurate data entry into the NXT database.

• Support sustaining and mid-level donor engagement as needed, collaborating with current team members to ensure consistent communication and relationship-building efforts.

4. Travel Support

• Support RMs and coordinate travel arrangements for donor visits, including liaising with Central American staff, organizing transportation, accommodation, and managing logistics.

• Manage pre-trip arrangements, such as travel insurance, orientation materials, and team leader support (e.g., emergency cards and training logistics).

• Compile trip feedback for country offices to support program improvements.

5. Annual Fund Implementation

• Facilitate solicitation, stewardship, and cultivation of donors for the Annual Fund, including:

o Facilitate, organize, and execute multi-channel direct mail appeals.

o Plan, coordinate, and manage the direct mail program – oversee quarterly solicitations from strategy conception to execution and donor appreciation.

o Collaborate with Development Director to develop content for direct mail appeals.

o Oversee layout and design with the communications design team.

o Execute all aspects of the mailing process.

o Perform in-depth analysis of campaign results.

6. Community Giving and Workplace Campaigns

• Manage Agros’ participation in workplace giving campaigns including state and county employee campaigns and corporate partnerships (e.g., Microsoft, United Way).

• Coordinate Agros' presence at community events and respond to speaking opportunities.

• Coordinate Agros’ participation in annual giving days (e.g., Giving Tuesday, GiveBig).

• Develop and manage a portfolio of community partners, with a focus on corporate donors and prospects, by cultivating and stewarding relationships through internal and external contacts.

• Identify, cultivate, and secure opportunities for Agros to be a beneficiary of community and business fundraising events, such as concerts and benefit nights at local venues.

7. Event Coordination and Donor Engagement

• Assist with the logistics and planning of donor-related events, including virtual and in-person gatherings.

• Coordinate with vendors and partners to ensure high-quality events that align with donor engagement goals.

• Provide on-site or virtual support during events to ensure smooth operation and to help maintain donor relationships. Other Responsibilities

• Supervise development volunteers/interns as needed. Organizational Commitment

• Support Agros' commitment to diversity and inclusivity and be available during peak fundraising periods to meet organizational goals.


Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong document and presentation skills for internal and external audiences; ability to learn new software quickly.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Strong organizational skills and phenomenal attention to detail, with a commitment to high-quality work.

• Excellent customer service skills with a donor-centered approach.

• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. • Preferred experience in a nonprofit development role or similar.

• Fundraising event experience preferred.

• Passionate about Agros’ mission and supportive of its faith-based values and motivation.
