Under occasional supervision, performs routine to moderately complex and specialized administrative, secretarial, bookkeeping and clerical work in support of effective and efficient department operations. Provides professional and courteous assistance to the public. Performs related work as required. Reports to the Manager, Savannah River Research Campus.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs responsible administrative and secretarial duties in support of the SRRC Manager, including but not limited to compiling data for reports, editing and proofreading various documents, scheduling meetings and appointments, making travel and conference arrangements for staff, establishing and maintaining filing systems and files, etc.Anticipates and prepares materials needed by supervisor for meetings and decision-making purposes.Prepares, composes, edits, types, copies, files distributes and/or mails various letters of correspondence, memos, reports, official records, and forms as directed.Attends meetings as required; drafts and distributes agendas and meeting minutes.Schedules the use of conference room by County and outside groups; prepares room for meetings; receives and processes rental / conference room / copier usage fees.Prepares monthly budget reports; monitors and balances revenues and expenditures; authorizes payment of invoices and emergency purchases in the absence of the Manager; processes invoices for payment; maintains petty cash fund, and prepares various financial reports.Answers the telephone; screens callers; provides information as requested or forwards calls to appropriate staff person; takes messages as necessary.Greets and assists office visitors; escorts personnel and visitors to various secure government locations throughout the facility and laboratory.Provides routine clerical support, including but not limited to processing daily mail, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, entering computer data, maintaining logs and lists, ordering supplies, etc.Receives and responds to tenant and public inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints regarding SRRC policies, procedures and operations.Performs certain administrative duties of the SRRC in his/her absence as required.Refers to policy and procedure manuals, directories, computer manuals, dictionary, budget documents, equipment manuals, supply catalogs, etc.Operates various types of office equipment in the performance of duties such as a computer, printer, adding machine, fax machine, copier, telephones, scanner, label maker.Uses office and computer supplies.Interacts and communicates with the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other County personnel, other government agencies, tenants, vendors and the general public.NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other related duties as required. Capable of learning HVAC computer TRACER system operations is desirable.
