The Elizabeth Point Lodge is looking for an Innkeeper to oversee day-to-day operations and achieve hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.

The Job

A typical day for the Innkeeper includes planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing the day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Job Duties Include:

  • Create an exceptional guest experience through guest engagement before, during, and after each stay.
  • Learn and share facts related to the inn’s history with guests and staff.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement the day-to-day operations of the inn.
  • Oversee inn staffing to include recruitment & selection, orientation, training & development, scheduling, counseling, performance management and other employee relations issues.
  • Craft the budget for the inn to include sales, marketing, operations and a strategic revenue management plan.
  • Greet guests and facilitate property tours.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to maintain standards.
  • Serve as a concierge by providing information for local shopping, dining, and recreational destinations.
  • Initiate and maintain personal contact with guests, clients, and community organizations.
  • Ensure safety and security of the inn, staff and guests and respond to all emergency situations.
  • Remain current on industry trends and local market activities.
  • Identify needed repairs and coordinate scheduling of maintenance work with contractors.
  • Provide timely, real-time feedback to management and employees on service and operational standards, including feedback on even the smallest of service and operational details.
  • Review and follow-up on property guest satisfaction scores and comments.
  • Act as a project manager for the execution of capital improvements.
  • Walk the property to ensure public spaces, grounds, work and kitchen areas meet sanitation and cleanliness/maintenance standards.
  • Work with the above-property sales team to implement sales strategy for the property.
  • Delegate responsibilities for operations and projects to appropriate inn associates.
  • Manage on-property controllable costs associated with rooms, housekeeping, events, and food and beverage operations.
  • Measure, analyze, and communicate property performance using a variety of financial/non-financial data including controllable costs, sales revenue, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement data.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • Review property performance on a regular basis with Regional Director.
  • Prepare an annual capital plan and ensure its execution throughout the year.
  • Conduct performance reviews for associates as applicable.

Requirements:
  • 2 plus years of related hotel experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2 plus years of experience as a hotel Innkeeper or General Manager preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays.
