About the Role:
We are seeking a Louver R&D Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and drafters in driving new product development, enhancements, and sustainment for various louver applications. This role plays a key part in translating product roadmaps into innovative solutions while ensuring standardization and compliance with evolving building codes.
πΉ What Youβll Do:
β Lead Product Innovation
- Oversee new product introductions (NPI), enhancements, and value analysis initiatives.
- Standardize design principles and engineering change processes to ensure consistency.
- Utilize FEA/CFD simulations and lab test correlations to accelerate product development.
- Generate technical reports, marketing illustrations, and performance documentation.
β Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Plant Teams, and Testing Labs to ensure specifications align with production capabilities.
- Ensure engineering drawings and documentation are correctly interpreted and implemented.
- Deliver monthly status reports and proactively communicate potential risks.
- Seek new business opportunities through networking, technical committees, and industry events.
β Mentor & Develop Talent
- Hire, train, and manage a team of engineers and drafters.
- Promote best practices in product development and innovation.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
β Ensure Compliance & Industry Leadership
- Stay ahead of industry standards and building codes (AMCA, ASHRAE, AHRI, TDI, FBC, Miami Dade, UL, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes.
- Manage budget forecasting and departmental business expenses.
What You Bring:
β B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 6 years of experience
β Strong HVAC product knowledge related to louvers, accreditation, and lab testing
β Expertise in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.) to drive innovation
β High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
β Ability to interpret technical documents, building codes, and regulations
β Proven leadership experience with team management, mentorship, and goal setting
β Strong communication and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments

- Louver industry experience in HVAC product development
- Familiarity with AMCA, ASHRAE, AHRI, TDI, FBC, Miami Dade, UL, etc.
