The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Contract Specialist (NH-1102-03) to work at MacDill AFB, FL.
Provide business advice to the customer and to perform all contracting functions using a wide range of contracting methods and types, and to procure complex and/or diversified SOP unique commodities, systems, equipment, services, construction, and/or research/development. Ensure successful market research, acquisition planning, contract performance management and interpretation of contract law to provide for the procurement of Special Operations Forces (SOF) unique systems, equipment, and services.
Paid Time Off:
Knowledge of contracting negotiation, administration and termination principles, policies, procedures and technical requirements applicable to the full range of contracting actions for a variety of contract types.
Knowledge of price and cost analysis sufficient io review proposals, actual and estimated expenditures and established rates to determine price reasonableness or to determine a negotiation position.
Knowledge of business practices and market conditions applicable to acquisition requirements; of assigned contracting and procurement specializations and applicable contract types; and of methods and techniques of fact-finding, analysis and resolution of complex contracting problems.
Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to negotiate; to properly apply funding rules associated with the obligation of multiple types of appropriations; and to apply precedents found in government contracting case law to specific contracting situations to ensure that legally binding contracting officer decisions are consistent, justifiable and will be upheld at appellate courts or boards.
Ability to adjust work operations and program objectives to meet emergencies, changing programs or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work, and to establish perfom1ance goals and assess progress toward their achievement.

- Salary $86,962 - $134,435
- Travel authorized up to 25%

- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
