DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to exercise 2nd level (or higher) supervisory and managerial authorities over the Aerospace Sustainment Directorate. Directs work activities through subordinate supervisors/leads with responsibility for providing advice, accountability, and expertise to higher management and/or senior leadership on a continuous basis. Exercises control over the organizational element by providing direction, planning, and leadership for assigned subordinate personnel. 1. Exercises 2nd level (or higher) technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more during duty time over subordinates predominately in the Logistics Management Occupational Series and at the journey level or higher. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate supervisors/leads, sets and adjusts short and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. 2. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics related objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. 3. Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. 4. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with management levels and all coordinating agencies. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Mastery knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support. 2. Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a medium to large sized organization. 3. Extensive knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of team building, developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and leading members as a cooperative team. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 6. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization. ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall. Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties. 2. Must file OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of acceptance of position and annually thereafter. 3. This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee is subject to periodic short notice drug testing. 4.
