About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisor, Assistant Director of Operations (NH 0301-03) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412 Operations Group, 461st Flight Test Squadron (461 FLTS/DOOO) at Edwards Air Force Base.
Serves as Supervisory ADO serving as oversight to the scheduling operations of the unit. The purpose of this position is to serve as one of the unit's Assistant Directors of Operations (ADO) with duties managing current flight operations as the Aircrew Training Officer, Standardization and Evaluation Specialist, and Aircrew Scheduling Officer. Directs, organizes, and assigns training, planning, standardization and evaluation, and other operations staff duties for both aircrew and Mission Control Room (MCR) personnel. Develops and implements flight operations training policies and monitors related compliance and standardization. Oversees aircrew mission scheduling to include training and standardization and evaluation requirements.

Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air Force Base)
Typical 2025 salary range: $103,316 - $159,716 (includes locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible
Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.
- Ability to create, lead, and sustain cohesive teams.
- Hands-on experience with DoD supervisory systems of record, including Cas2Net and DPMAP.
- Understanding of flight and test requirements and regulations.
- USAF aircrew experience is desired.
Major Duties:
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work
- Assumes duties that support the Director of Operations (DO) in decisions and actions related to aircraft operations.
- As the Aircrew Training Officer, develops and directs tracking of aircrew training requirements for assigned and attached personnel.
- Prepares local training requirements and reviews and approves aircrew qualification and upgrade training.
- Tracks and coordinates off-station training requirements and coordinates timelines with aircrew and the DO.
- Conducts self-inspections per regulation and direction and oversees preparation for higher headquarters inspections.
- Evaluates effectiveness and qualification.
- Interprets inspection findings of oversight agencies, briefs leadership on results, and develops actions to correct deficiencies.
- Provides guidance and leads preparation for aircrew and MCR personnel and Operations Division evaluations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- SECRET level security clearance and eligibility for SAP access is required.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Air Force Test Center and higher headquarters flight and test operations administrative instructions, rules, policies, procedures and precedents.
- Expert knowledge of operations principles, policies and procedures as well as a comprehensive knowledge of operations support programs
