Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners (“AJCP”) is seeking a Director of Interior Design for its internal design team, which helps support its rapid growth across various investment platforms focused on the hospitality, mixed-use, and single-family rental sectors.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Interior Design will be responsible for the execution of several projects, alongside the larger team, as outlined through the tasks below.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as the overall interior design leader for various projects at AJ, including setting, monitoring, and adjusting project budgets, design standards, schedules, and milestones
- Develop holistic vision for property in collaboration with the Head of Design through outsourced photo-realistic renderings including units, common areas, amenities and F&B offerings
- Execute the vision through developing interior design specs, finishes and drawings that will be utilized for the procurement of FF&E and construction of the project.
- Preparing and expanding upon design concepts developed alongside the Head of Design
- Review, comment and markup all shop drawings, millwork packages and submittals related to the interior design of the project.
- Work closely with internal and external partners, including head of design, brand, architects, real estate development managers, contractors, and vendors, to balance competing needs and priorities and ensure that all projects are delivered on time and budget
- Partner with AJCP interior design team to infuse the AJ parent brand and design standards into the multifamily / office portfolio execution
- Develop and continually refine AJ design standards and processes to increase efficiency and improve operations
- Collaborate with the brand and property managers to execute marketing collateral for the properties
- Provide architectural and interior design input / troubleshooting to support the development managers as needed – including value engineering revisions to meet budget
- Provide AJ’s leadership team with regular updates on all projects; create and update tools to show project progress, track important milestones, and identify potential risks

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 12 years of relevant Hospitality Design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Spexx, BlueBeam, Smartsheet, Revit, Adobe Creative suite, and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience specifying custom FF&E, and how custom furniture & lighting is built
- Solid architectural and interior design skills
- Working knowledge of construction methodologies and fluid understanding of processes from concept design through construction administration
- Experience managing a team with multiple projects and deadlines all while being an integral part of the execution of the work.
- Excellent understanding of design concept to execution, including color theory, furniture and material selections, and rendering development
- Excellent understanding of shop drawings, elevation mock-ups, and 3D modeling when necessary
- Excellent understanding of architectural finish schedules and reading drawing sets
- Deep understanding of budget, schedule, and project coordination
