The Accounting Manager plays a key role in managing client financial records and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and handling both non-attest and attest engagements, including compilations, reviews, and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
- Conduct and oversee the preparation of both non-attest and attest work, including compilations, reviews, and audits.
- Plan and manage audit engagements, conducting risk assessments, performing testing, and preparing comprehensive documentation.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for client decision-making.
- Monitor compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with clients to provide tax planning and advisory services tailored to their needs.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction with deliverables.
- Reconcile accounts, ensure accuracy of financial records, and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop and streamline accounting, auditing, and reporting processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, ensuring quality and accuracy in their work.
- Partner with senior leadership to align client needs with organizational goals and initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in preparing audits, tax returns, and financial statements.
- Hands-on experience with non-attest and attest engagements.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards (e.g., GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with current tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in delivering tax advisory services and presenting audit findings to clients.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and preparation for various entity types.
