What are the responsibilities and job description for the Referral Coordinator position at Akahi Associates, LLC?
Overview
Provide medical administrative support clerk services to the Central Referral Center (CRC) team and TRICARE beneficiaries to ensure daily functions associated with specialty referral review and coordination, beneficiary counseling, and referral tracking for the Multi-Service Market Office (MSMO) Colorado Springs.
Schedule: Duty days are Mondays through Fridays. The exact hours would be dependent on where the person is working, but would be an 8-10 hours per day is anticipated and not exceed 40 hours per week. Normal place of duty is at the CMHS office.
Pay rate: $26/hr

Responsibilities
- Coordinates specialty care referrals. Maintains and tracks referral records.
- Coordinates referral management functions and ensures team members receive information in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate continuity of patient care.
- Reviews specialty care referrals for appropriateness, covered benefit, and administrative and completeness.
- Shall have knowledge in the area of health benefits.
- Participates with team members in providing, assessing and improving a wide variety of customer services/relations.
- Assists in the management of all forms of communication between beneficiaries, team members, internal staff and providers, network/outside providers and ancillary health care workers.
- The contractor will be responsible for using Composite Healthcare System, Electronic Worldwide Referral and Authorization System (EWRAS), or other systems designated.
Qualifications
- Shall be able to read, understand, speak, and write English well enough to communicate effectively.
- Education and Training. High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. Completion of Administrative Assistant program is desirable.
