This role is a full-cycle recruitment position responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring for a wide range of positions. You will play a vital role in scaling our client-facing and internal teams across various functions, including administration, management, information technology, facilities, and service delivery. Collaborating closely with hiring managers and capture managers, you will identify critical needs, define job requirements, and oversee the recruitment process from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include conducting initial screenings, assessments, and interviews, and you will be instrumental in identifying top talent to meet our diverse needs. As Akiak is a federally focused technology organization, familiarity with the federal IT market is essential.
In addition to managing the recruitment pipeline, you will ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience. As a full-cycle recruiter, you'll handle every aspect of the hiring process, from offer negotiations to closing candidates and facilitating a smooth onboarding transition.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Collaborating with hiring managers and the Director of Human Resources to identify job openings, technical requirements, and draft job requisitions and descriptions.
- Determining and implementing sourcing strategies, including job boards, internal postings, external recruiters, and executive search firms.
- Posting job openings on identified platforms and tracking applicant progress.
- Screening candidates to ensure alignment with job requirements and presenting top resumes to hiring managers and the Director of HR.
- Coordinating interviews (telephone, video, or in-person) and managing the recruitment dashboard to track hiring goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Maintaining professional and timely communication with candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Assisting in the development and execution of assessment methods to evaluate candidates job-related and culture-fit skills.
- Managing recruitment-related paperwork and other duties as assigned within the HR department.
Knowledge/Skills required by the position:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Working knowledge and experience within the Federal IT market.
- A good understanding of technology and technical skills.
- Experience in recruitment processes and talent acquisition and management platforms.
- Good interpersonal and decision-making skills.
- Strong team player and commitment to promoting company values.
- Ability to multi-task and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Teams and SharePoint as well as a general knowledge of mobile device use and applications in recruiting.
- Familiarity with social media recruiting
- Experience in human resources or recruitment strongly preferred.

Supervisory Controls:
This position reports directly to the VP Client Services, who provides administrative direction. Supervisor oversight includes:
Supervisory: This position is considered supervisory and requires at least 25% of the positions time to oversee the work of subordinates. The employee works independently with completed tasks in accordance to goals and objectives.
Non-Supervisory (Technical): This position works in Agile cross-functional teams where tasks are assigned collaboratively, or through project schedules.
Non-Supervisory (General): This position works in an environment that includes supervisory oversight of general assignments.
Tribal Relationships: The employee may interact with tribal citizens and tribal communities. As such, is responsible for adopting a culture of advocacy while protecting tribal interests. Must be respectful and sensitive to the unique sovereignty and tribal governance issues.
Physical Demands:
Work is primarily indoors in an office setting. No unusual physical activity is required. You may travel to Alaska, and in doing so will expose the employee to extreme cold: temperatures typically -10 up to -50 degrees below freezing wind chill for periods of up to 5 hours outside, with frequent breaks in warm dry areas. Employee must be able to lift their personal luggage and any personal equipment/supplies and climb into and out of small planes with confined spaces.
Writing/Communication:
The employee may support federal programs under contract. Therefore, contract compliance activities, including scope of work, deliverables, and reporting on contract management activities to Company leadership is required.
Teleworking: The company has a teleworking policy for all employees and is dependent upon the type of position.This position may be assigned to support a federal contract. The Companys teleworking eligibility may not apply if the employee is supporting a federal services contract. In this instance, the employee may be subject to federal telework policies and may be required to work onsite in the federal facility when requested.
Position Sensitivity and Risk Designation: Moderate Risk
The position may support federal or state contracts. When required, the employee must at least go through a basic background check that can yield a moderate-risk designation and to make sure you are reliable, trustworthy, and suitable for the job. Amoderate riskpositionis likely to produce a fair amount of harm or serious damage to the publics trust. The agency with whom the contract is with, will ask you for the necessary personal information to start the background investigation process. The amount of information youll need to give depends on the contract award. Following the investigation, the agency will make their trustworthiness determination.
