Akkodis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire job with a client in Downey, CA/Cerritos, CA/Lakewood, CA. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing systems, and coordinating handyman tasks such as light electrical, plumbing, and painting work.
Rate Range: $19/hour to $23/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Maintenance Technician job responsibilities include:
Perform preventive maintenance work orders according to schedule.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Maintain and repair interior and exterior finishes of buildings, including painting and tile repairs.
Assist with general handyman tasks such as furniture moves, door repairs, and event setups.
Operate scissor or boom lifts and work from ladders to replace light bulbs and hang banners.
Submit accurate and timely paperwork, including maintenance reports.
Ensure facilities remain clean, including removing trash as required.
Respond to and adapt to rapidly changing situations, including working overtime when necessary.
Desired Qualifications:
GED or equivalent, with two-year college or technical trade school preferred.
2 to 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Scissor or boom lift experience and certification preferred, with the ability to work overtime on short notice.

Pay Details: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour
