ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I - TRAINEE
ANCHORAGE
This is a temporary training position for six months. The goal of the training is to assist eligible public housing residents in developing job skills that an applicant currently does not have by providing on-the-job training for basic office skills and by participating in computer classes with AHFC. This position is not intended to serve individuals who may already possess basic office skills.
This is a temporary position that does not offer employment with AHFC at the completion of the training period.
General Description
Under the direct supervision of department supervisor, this training position receives, opens and disburses Corporation mail; receives and greets customers; posts outgoing mail; performs basic data entry tasks; maintains the Corporation's telephone exchange and performs switchboard duties; completes a variety of clerical tasks. This is a non-exempt, non- supervisory position.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION – NOT TO EXCEED 6 (SIX) MONTHS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Telephone etiquette and techniques; branch telephone exchange procedures; basic clerical procedures.
Skills in: Good organizational aptitude; accurate work product; basic computer and data input experience; good oral and written communications skills.
Ability to: Plan, organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision, maintain pleasant working relationships. Meet the public, use telephone directories and equipment, think and act quickly in emergencies. Perform routine clerical work with speed and accuracy. Speak and write clearly and effectively; follow oral and written directions.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent. Office experience is preferred but not required.
$16.97 per hour (AHFC excludes this increase in income during the training period)
