Summary:
Under general direction performs skilled work in facility disciplines such as painting, mudding, taping, and other drywall finishing. May perform work in more than one craft discipline as personal skill permits and workload requires.

Responsibilities:

All
P repares walls and surfaces for painting; patches, sands and primes walls and surfaces. Mixes and applies paint, lacquer, primer, sealer, stain, epoxy, and acrylic to necessary shade. Paints walls, doors, door casings, trims, ceilings, stairs, floors, equipment and other projects. Exterior painting including retaining walls, light pole bases, sign bases and handrails. Paints parking lot striping, cross walks, handicap parking and street curbs. Performs drywall finishing and painting of remodeled areas including mudding, taping, texturing and feathering of surfaces. Repairs or replaces damaged wall coverings in rooms as needed. Follows safety precautions and procedures in performance of job duties. Follows clean construction policies including knowledge and implantation of: Infection Control procedures, Interim Life Safety measures, and Pre-Construction Risk Assessments. Orders supplies and materials related to project, coordinates and schedules contractors and other maintenance workers. Assesses and adjusts priorities and refocus efforts as needed to meet individual project requirements, workload, and program objectives on all ANTHC Buildings. Completes Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual PM’s assigned by management. Performs other duties as assigned.
P ainter Apprentice
S erves as the productive worker to assist the Journeyman and Senior Journeyman in the repair and maintenance of all Painting Projects on ANTHC Campus. Learn the work order system, and establishes priorities to meet tight deadlines of projects, Pm’s, and work orders. Learn the steps to perform the above representative duties, tool and material safety.
J ourneyman Painter
A ble to perform all of the above duties with minimal supervision, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
S enior Journeyman Painter
N o supervision needed, able to perform all High Level, complex duties throughout ANTHC campus, also trains the Painter Apprentice on the representative duties, checks progress of Journeyman Painter, prioritizing work efforts, provide training on tool and material safety.
L ead Painter
N o supervision needed, able to perform at the highest level of efficiency and skill on a production level associated with new construction and renovations.

A bility to perform and communicate effectively to departments projects that need to be completed, safety precautions, timelines, and patient safety, what tools needed, what will be disrupted and find solutions to best accommodate department needs for minimal disruptions to the business day.
S enior Journeyman Painter
A dvanced skill in all areas of Maintenance and Construction Projects
E ffective communication both written and verbal for department needs
R eports any immediate issues to Direct Supervisor that need attention
O versees the quality of work performed by the Painter Apprentice, and Journeyman Painters
A bility to work independently
L ead Painter
A dvanced skill in providing up to level 5 wall finishes on a production scale associated with new construction or renovations.
S kill in utilizing PRCA documentation to understand Infection Control requirements, and implementing the required infection control containment and negative air filtration to meet those requirements.
A bility to assist with material usage and labor estimates required for construction projects.
M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
P ainter Apprentice
H igh School Diploma or GED equivalent
J ourneyman Painter, Senior Journeyman Painter & Lead Painter
A high school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of Painting Apprenticeship through local union or through Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) or a training program requiring 6000-7000 hours.
M INIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
P ainter Apprentice- Non-supervisory - High school diploma or GED equivalent 1 Year residential or commercial painting experience.
J ourneyman Painter Non-supervisory – Three (3) years of skilled level craft work experience in the commercial painting trade.
S enior Journeyman Painter Non-supervisory – Five (5) years of skilled level craft work experience in the commercial painting trade. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
L ead Painter Non-supervisory – Five (5) years of skilled level craft work experience in the commercial painting trade In Addition Two (2) years of experience leading professional commercial painting projects. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

A DDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
M ay be required to possess an Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record.
D epending on the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional certifications or training in one or more specialty areas.
M ust be available for night (off-hour) work and weekends when projects need to occur outside of normal business hours.
M ust be able to perform and pass a Fitness Test for this Position, and also retest if Management decides it is necessary.
