The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a crucial role in the Pediatrics Gastroenterology department, providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medications and therapies, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring efficient patient processing and discharge.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, adhere to HIPAA guidelines, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students, promoting professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) upon hire.
- ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support certification upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
