Summary
Estimators analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products by applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. Estimators must possess strong attention to detail, analytical and strategic thinking abilities, the ability to multi-task, and superior interpersonal skills. The Estimator will prepare accurate estimates for products by gathering information and analyzing important metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a product.
- Review and evaluate cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products.
- Present cost estimates to upper management.
- Prepare reports detailing all the costs going into a product.
- Input cost data into the company database.
- Prepare cost analysis.
- Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
- Manage bid pricing from all vendors.
- Understand the scope of work to bid.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Notice differences between estimated cost and actual cost.
- Look at customer requirements for a product.
- Work with the sales team to prepare proposals.
- Ensure timely completion of estimates.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and math skills.
- Understand technical drawings and requirements.
- Deep knowledge of how processes work.
- Proficient in ERP Systems.
- Advanced computer skills: specifically, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Create reports on costing data.
- Put together a professional presentation.
- Detail-oriented mindset.
- Work independently & can work well on a team.
- Associate in engineering preferred and/or relevant experience.
- 2-5 years direct related experience
- Foundry experience is a plus.
