POSITION SUMMARY
Assist Audiologist in the performance of audiologic evaluations and the fitting of hearing aids. Provide direct patient support for walk-in and telephone hearing aid problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Audiologist in Audiological Evaluations
- Taking accurate ear mold impressions
- Preparing the mold for shipping
- Tracking hearing aid orders and communicating with vendors
- Monitoring supplies
- Routine repairs of hearing aids
- Clean and maintain audiologic equipment in accordance with OSHA standards
- Provide chart review as needed
- Instruct clients in the proper maintenance, cleaning and use of hearing aids and/or assisted listening devices (ALD)
- Communicating and documenting patient education and reports in the medical record
- Cerumen Management
- May routinely be required to do a variety of previously unforeseen tasks in order to assist with the smooth function of the Audiology clinic
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- High school graduate or equivalent and training
- One-year experience as Audiology Technician is preferred
- One-year previous medical experience or training in medical fields (such as medical assistant, lab assistant, LPN).
- Dependable, professional, punctual and must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Provide proof of the following tests:
- Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
- Varicella
- Acellular Pertussis
- Influenza
- OSHA regulation concerning occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
