What You’ll Do:
- Engage Providers: Build relationships with physician offices, clinics, and medical facilities to facilitate medical record retrieval.
- Coordinate Records Retrieval: Communicate with providers to schedule visits, request documentation, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure Accuracy: Review medical records for completeness and address discrepancies promptly.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and other laws governing medical record handling.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong professional connections with healthcare providers and office staff for smooth collaboration.
- Problem-Solve: Address challenges in the records retrieval process with creativity and persistence.
- Report Progress: Provide management with updates on retrieval activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in medical records retrieval, healthcare coordination, or a similar role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to patient privacy and knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site visits to physician offices.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Candidates need to be local to New York City
