Summary
We are seeking a full-time Lower School Teacher to join our team at Alexandria Country Day School. In this role, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
- Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance and classroom activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and experience in behavior management. Experience with Responsive Classroom is beneficial.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools is a plus.
- Experience with Wilson Fundations, Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop, and/or Singapore Math or Math in Focus is essential.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
