Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting and Phone Support Assistant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to support both our accounting functions and provide excellent phone support to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and a friendly, professional phone demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Support:
- Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Help with reconciling bank statements and financial records.
- Maintain accurate accounting files and assist with data entry into accounting software.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and supporting documents for month-end and year-end closing.
- Help with payroll processing and other basic accounting duties as needed.
- Phone Support:
- Answer incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner.
- Respond to customer inquiries, direct calls to the appropriate department, or resolve issues as necessary.
- Provide information regarding billing inquiries and account status.
- Schedule appointments and manage phone messages efficiently.
- Help maintain a positive relationship with clients by ensuring their needs are addressed in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage or similar).
- Strong phone communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and courteously with clients.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Prior experience in an office setting is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- A positive, can-do attitude with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
