In this role, youll collaborate with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies on impactful infrastructure projects. As a Roadway Designer, youll develop engineering models, conduct analysis and design, and prepare supporting calculations and documentation. Youll also play a key role in drafting and coordinating project elements, ensuring our designs align with Floridas vision for improving transportation safety while maintaining functional operations of our roads and highways. The Change Youll Drive Design transportation plans aligned with FDOT and local agency standards. Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and designs for quality and accuracy. Perform calculations and provide design recommendations based on sound engineering principles. Maintain project drawing databases with precision and attention to detail. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet deadlines and ensure quality control. Collaborate with project managers to deliver client-focused solutions while upholding AlfKas standards. What Makes You a Great Fit 4 years of roadway design experience working with FDOT and local Florida agencies. Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads Designer and / or AutoCAD Civil3D . Solid understanding of the FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, procedures, and best practices. Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a collaborative environment.
