As the Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our recruitment processes and ensuring that every new member of our community experiences a seamless and engaging onboarding journey. Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Excellence
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, from job requisition to candidate selection, ensuring compliance with federal, state, SUNY, and campus policies.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.
- Employ innovative sourcing strategies to attract top-tier talent.
- Foster strong relationships with internal leaders and stakeholders and external partners, including recruitment agencies and educational institutions.
Seamless Onboarding
- Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programming that fosters a smooth transition for new hires.
- Organize new hire information sessions to introduce new employees to our culture, benefits, and policies.
- Continuously evaluate onboarding programs to enhance the new hire experience.
- Act as a welcoming guide, offering support and addressing questions throughout the onboarding process.
- Provide backup support to the Benefits Specialist and stay informed about benefits policy updates.
Team Collaboration
- Develop and maintain relationships with leaders, hiring managers, vendors and external partners.
- Generate reports on recruitment metrics, new hires, and applicant data.
- Collaborate with the Chief Diversity Officer to implement initiatives that connect employees across our campus community.
- Participate in workshops, webinars, and professional conferences to stay ahead of industry trends.
Training and Development
- Manage mandatory training programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging content.
- Engage with hiring managers to ensure effective recruitment practices.
- Monitor and report employee training progress, ensuring timely completion.

Job Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in related field with 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruitment or other management related role.
- Ability to complete detailed tasks with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with 5 years of experience in Human Resources or other management related role.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and benefits administration.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, and training program management.
- Cross-cultural competency, including a record of working successfully with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated work experience within higher education.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated energy and self-motivation.
Additional Information:
The salary range for this position begins at $52,000 and may increase commensurate with qualifications and experience.
