The Director Data Technology Services (DTS) Financial & Strategic Planning drives and coordinates project execution, project ROI development and prioritization, project outcomes reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, purchase order creation, invoice payment, and time tracking across the information technology, provider reimbursement, and member / provider engagement functions comprising a significant portion of Alignment Health’s operations and SG&A spend. Partners cross-functionally with Alignment Health’s Finance, HCM, and other functions to ensure compliance with operating and capital expense budgets and plays a critically important role in Alignment Health’s achievement of profitability and other financial objectives.

General Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develops and finalizes the suite of appropriately sized DTS project deliverables in collaboration with DTS associates and executive leaders. Define and operationalize size/complexity/outcome thresholds to which some/all DTS project deliverables will apply.
  • Collaborates with second- and third-level business function leaders, DTS product managers, FP&A, and other stakeholders to aggregate the set of quantified business function cost driver improvements, estimated DTS investments and associated timelines, and specific DTS and business function SMEs required to deliver them to enable prioritization of the investments by the Alignment CEOC.
  • Develops and finalizes a quarterly reporting package for each Alignment CEOC leader conveying key DTS value information.
  • Works with the Chief Information Officer, 2nd level DTS leadership, and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to define and distribute budget targets, manage refinements with each iterative budget pass, and arrive at a final budget balancing the ability of functional areas to achieve operational targets with meeting the targets set by the Financial Analysis & Planning team.
  • Coordinates application of functional area leader inputs throughout the month to produce a monthly forecast for the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Creates and distributes monthly and quarterly budget variance and other reports as required. Coordinate the aggregation of variance explanations across functional area leaders who are cost center owners.
  • Supervises team members in receiving functional area inputs to create purchase orders against which external vendors may invoice, and in approving accurate and timely invoice payment against products and services received.
  • Oversees the time tracking system used primarily by information technology internal and external resources to track time against projects and other activities, and ensure the appropriate financial treatment of associated internal and external labor costs as operating and capital expenses. Coordinates the onboarding of new internal and external resources to the time tracking system and define new projects against which time may be tracked, ensuring that the associated costs are treated and reported appropriately.
  • Tracks and reports on the placement of such assets into service and impairment of assets previously placed into service which are superseded.

Supervisory Requirements

Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Experience

Job Requirements:

  • Required: Minimum 10 years financial analysis/management and other functional and technical experience in healthcare. Minimum 7 years’ experience using financial reporting, ERP, procure-to-pay, business intelligence, or budgeting/forecasting packages.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Preferred: MBA

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Report Analysis Skills: Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.

  • Required: None
  • Preferred: CPA

Pay Range: $130,332.00 - $195,498.00
