We currently have an opening for the position of Business Development Manager, Vials & Diluents. This is a full-time remote based position.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Life Sciences, the Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding ALK's sterile vial and diluent product lines in target market segments within the United States. The Business Development Manager will formulate and execute sales and marketing plans to drive revenue of the product line in pharmaceutical/biotech, academic research labs, wholesaler/distributor and compounding pharmacy segments.
This position will play a critical role in the success of expanding the market for ALK’s innovative and propriety sterile vial and diluents products.
More specifically, you will (not limited to):
- Develop sales and business plans to expand the customer base for sterile vial and diluent products in the U.S.
- Develop distributor wholesaler relationships to establish and drive third party sales channel.
- Work with marketing to refine customer segments, target markets, messaging, pricing, etc.; create marketing materials, sales collateral, and advertising campaigns to drive leads.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with multiple customer departments (purchasing, research, laboratory management)
- Attend conferences, tradeshows and other product-related events
- Achieve annual sales and gross margin targets; operate within expense budget guidelines & policies.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- 5 – 7 years of sales/business development experience selling a product or service into one or more of the target segment base.
- Experience selling lab supplies preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited higher learning institution in business or science related field.
- Must be results oriented, assertive and self-motivated, and possess strong organizational skills to be able to achieve goals consistently.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Proven ability of professional selling and presentation skills to influence multiple levels at customer organizations
- Must have excellent negotiation skills to close sales and meet gross profit targets.
