The All Faiths Cemetery (previously known as the Lutheran Cemetery) was founded in 1850 and incorporated in March of 1852 when the entrepreneur Rev. Dr. F. W. Geissenhainer took advantage of the Rural Cemetery Act of 1847-48. Situated on 225 Acres with 19 miles of roadways, the All Faiths Cemetery is slightly larger than ¼ the size of NYC’s Central Park. We are the final resting place of more than 540,000 New Yorkers, many of which were born during the early beginnings of our country from 1775 to 1797, and of multiple religious denominations.

Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Saturday mornings as needed.

Job Description:

All Faiths Cemetery is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The right candidate must be professional, be able to multitask, possess excellent communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Interact with funeral directors, the public and families over the phone and in person in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with families and memorialization company to place photoceramics cameo and/or emblem orders as requested by families.
  • Submit family maintenance requests to the ground crew.
  • Record new burials and grave/crypt purchases into the CemOffice database.
  • Maintain all property files for grave/crypt owners.
  • Research burial records upon request.
  • Respond to general mail inquiries related to your job responsibilities.
  • Prepare mass mailings for Annual Care Bills and Decoration Orders.
  • Process payment for annual care and decoration orders as they arrive.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-year administrative assistant experience (Preferred), 1-year (Required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)
  • Knowledge and experience working with most updated version of Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment including calculators, copiers, printers, fax machines, telephone console. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks. (Required)
  • Bilingual Spanish / Chinese a plus
