Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available for surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
The right candidte will possess knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and has a good working understanding of the functioning of instruments and all equipment utilized in the operating room and central sterile. The ST utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as a member of the surgical team. The ST will scrub a variety of surgical specialties, as necessary, to provide care to surgical patients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and sutures during operations.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for before and after procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow in the operating room (OR).
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment post-surgery.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Participate in infection control measures to prevent postoperative complications.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, including counts of instruments and sponges.
- Stay updated on best practices in critical care, emergency medicine, and pediatrics.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Maintains current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs.
- Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic and articulate manner.
- Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
- Language proficiency in English
