What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit and Collections Associate position at All Waste, Inc.?
Overview:
There is an opening for an experienced Credit and Collections Associate. This is an hourly full-time position.
Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Make collection calls and follow up to obtain payment in a timely manner.
- Make payment arrangements.
- Work with Sales, Customer Service, Billing, and Operations to resolve any payment or invoice issues.
- Reconcile customer accounts.
- Review the accounts on hold daily to release them when needed.
- Run and review aging for delinquent accounts.
- Communicate effectively with customers, as well as all departments and their managers.
- Be the backup coverage for the Billing Department when needed.
- Support management with the collection of outstanding credit and invoices to minimize profit loss while ensuring it is handled appropriately and per company policy and company requests.
- Support management in developing goals that complement the business goals of the company and work with other staff members to continually meet and exceed these goals.
- Investigate and resolve short payments and discrepancies.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, and handle disputes.
- Communicate with customers to build and maintain a strong working relationship.
- Assist management with the implementation of credit policies and procedures that retain the smooth running of the department and avoid excessive credit limits.
Requirements:
- An associate degree or continuing college work is preferred but may be substituted by experience.
- Candidate must have at least 3 – 4 years’ prior collections experience.
- Must be able to adapt to changing duties, as required by company needs.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to take charge and take initiative when needed.
- Promptness and reliability are an absolute must.
- Detail-oriented, proactive problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to self-direct and be resourceful.
- Be a strong team player.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance and follow company policies and procedures.
