Job Title: Estimator
Location: West Islip, NY
Salary: $165K - $200K
We're looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in civil construction and paving projects to join our growing team in West Islip, NY. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact infrastructure work across the region and play a key role in our continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review and interpret project drawings, specs, and bid documents for paving and site development projects.
· Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure bids are accurate and competitive.
· Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for optimal pricing and quality.
· Conduct risk assessments and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
· Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings to understand site-specific challenges.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local construction market trends, pricing, and regulations.
Requirements:
· 5 years of experience estimating civil construction projects, specifically in paving, roadwork, or sitework
· Strong understanding of paving processes, materials, and equipment
· Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar)
· Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
· Strong communication and collaboration abilities
