We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. As a Project Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing the financial health of our construction projects, working closely with project managers and the finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project financials from start to finish, including budget management, cost tracking, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare accurate and timely project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all project expenses are properly allocated and within budget.
- Monitor project cash flow and assist with forecasting.
- Coordinate with project managers and teams to ensure financial compliance.
- Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
- Reconcile project accounts and handle month-end close procedures.
- Assist in auditing project financial data and ensuring accuracy.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting experience (experience within the construction industry is highly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and project-based accounting practices
- Experience with job cost accounting systems is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
