Wine Host and Tour Guide

JOB PROFILE (a summary of key responsibilities and subjective attributes):

We are a family-owned artisan wine company producing single vineyard and estate wines. We are committed to earth-friendly winegrowing, “Sustainable” viticulture and crafting world-class wines. The Allegretto Wine Tasting room is located in the remarkably beautiful Allegretto Vineyard Resort.

The tasting room host position will focus on delivering exceptional wine experiences through seated educational tastings, private hosted tastings, exclusive outdoor terrace tastings and special events.

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates must be able to work respectfully within a diverse team, work weekends, have at least 2 years of wine tasting room experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work occasional extended hours during events.

Skills & Qualifications Essential

1) Tasting presentations require long periods of time standing and speaking to customers

2) Fine wine sales experience with a proven ability in closing and up selling

Desirable

1)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1) Provide guests with memorable wine and customer service experience that translates into wine sales

2) Lead tastings by interweaving wine, viticulture, and AVA knowledge with the compelling story Allegretto Wines

3) Operate POS systems, create shipping invoices, confidently handle all customer shipping questions

4) Daily inventory counting, reconciliation and restocking supplies behind bar – bags, pencils, tasting notes\

5) Administrative duties as needed – filing, inputting newsletter, email addresses, inputting

6) Cleaning inside and outside of the tasting room – sweeping, wiping down table tops, dusting shelves

7) Restocking wine from office to tasting room storage, whites in the refrigerator, reds onto displayed wine racks

8) Buffing stemware

9) Moving dirty stemware to restaurant dishwasher

10) Restock supplies behind bar

11) Administrative duties as needed – filing, inputting newsletter email addresses, inputting signed club forms, cash handling, balancing cash drawer

12) Able to handle high volume in a face pace environment

13) Out bound and inbound simple communications such as answering phone, signing for packages

14) Available evenings, weekends, and as needed

Education:

1) Associates degree preferred
