The Marketing and Events Specialist is a full-time non-exempt position based in our Richmond office. Responsible for the development and execution of projects, programs, and events that promote the firm's marketing goals and further the firm's strategic plan. Reports to the Marketing Manager.
Key responsibilities for the Marketing and Events Specialist include:
- Develop, administer, and report on firm-wide and attorney-specific marketing initiatives.
- Plan and execute events supporting various firm-wide community programs, including but not limited to: Hometown Heroes, Allen & Allen Cares, GEA Scholarship, Legal Food Frenzy, and client referral events.
- Assist Marketing Manager in the development of personal marketing plans of Attorneys. Provide on-going assistance to Attorneys as plans are implemented.
- Assess the results of projects/initiatives/events and provide recommendations for future use.
- Work with Marketing Content Specialist to track social media results, present analyses and implement approved updates/campaigns.
- Work with marketing team, administrative partners, and vendors to maintain consistent brand voice and message internally and externally.
- Collaborate with marketing team and vendors to develop goals and the strategic initiatives to achieve those goals.
- Assist Marketing Manager in executing various campaigns - TV, Radio, outdoor, and others.
- Monitor industry trends including advertising, engagement, and social media. Provide recommendation as to best practices.
- Assist attorneys and legal assistants with holiday marketing efforts and client-retention efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in setting goals, objectives, strategies, tactics, and measures for marketing campaigns.
- Strong project management skills including attention to detail and follow-through, as well as ability to manage several projects at once.
- Ability to draft various types of planning documents including marketing plans.
- Experience executing promotional campaigns via web, social media, digital advertising, broadcast email and print.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and collaborating with designers and copywriters.
- Must be able to attend firm events which includes occasional weeknights and weekends.
Requirements for success in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of 3 years' work experience in a project-driven environment.
- Experience in planning and executing events preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach and a positive attitude.
- Excellent conceptual thinking skills with ability to clearly explain rationale and recommendations.
- Strong research, editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple, shifting priorities and concurrent deadlines.
- Must stay up-to-date with marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies.
- Computer literacy, specifically with MS Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with interactive online media, including web-driven, broadcast e-mail and social networking.
- Experience working on a marketing team is required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted
- General office environment requiring sitting for long periods of time, occasional periods of standing and walking
- Visual capability to work viewing one to two computer monitors for several hours of the day
