Summary:
The Quality Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Job Duties:
- Inspect and test materials, components and finished products. Performs visual inspections, mechanical tests, and functional testing according to approved quality control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards: Verify that products meet industry and customer quality specifications, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Document and report findings: Records test results, inspection findings, and any deviations from quality standards. Prepare inspection reports and communicate results to management.
- Support corrective actions: Work with production teams to identify root causes of defects of quality issues and support corrective actions or improvements in the manufacturing process.
- Conduct audits and process reviews: Perform periodic audits of manufacturing processes and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use measurement and testing equipment: Operate measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) and specialized testing equipment to perform inspections.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
- Maintain Quality Documentation: Ensure that all quality-related documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for review by internal and external auditors.
- Assist in Training: Train production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of quality control standards, tools and processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficient in using measurement tools and inspection equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
