What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager - Pest Control position at Alliance Pest Services?
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Oversees the activities of the Pest Department Route Supervisor(s) and Sales/Service Technicians.
- Skillfully prices, schedules, and evaluates jobs and quality assurance programs.
- Performs other administrative tasks, including ordering equipment and supplies, compiling and submitting various reports, and calling clients with callbacks and stopped service.
- Will perform pest control services on commercial and residential accounts when necessary.
- Responsible for properly accounting for company funds received or spent during everyday business activities.
- Coordinates activities with the pest department secretary and other branch personnel.
- Responsible for overseeing that equipment is being maintained and vehicles are in a clean condition.
- Oversees the use of pesticides and the disposal of hazardous materials.
- Responsible for hiring and termination of employees and/or assisting the Branch Manager in doing so.
- Ensures that all Employees act within established company procedures, and state / provincial laws to ensure the safety of themselves, our customers and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- You must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Specifications
- You must obtain the necessary license or certification for the state/province within 90 days of start date.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Environment
- During a typical work day, you may work with or around avicides, desiccants, fumigants, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, miticides, propellants, rodenticides, termiticides, and other materials commonly found in and around structures.
- You will work outdoors in all types of weather. Use and maintain safety equipment, including bump caps, gloves, goggles, respirators, eye washers, first aid kits, and spill abatement. You must be able to operate company vehicles, power sprayers, foggers, dusters, drills, and various standard hand and power tools and other equipment and perform minor repairs on tools and related equipment as needed.
- During a typical work day, you may work with or around avicides, desiccants, fumigants, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, miticides, propellants, rodenticides, termiticides, and other materials commonly found in and around structures. Personal Protective Equipment and training of safe handling/storage will be provided by the company, which will minimize risk when the procedure is followed.

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
