Position Overview:
The Public Health Program Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding AllianceChicago's public health initiatives
portfolio. Public health is at the core of AllianceChicago's mission, and this individual will act as the primary liaison
for key public health projects, providing daily oversight and management of these initiatives. Their responsibilities
will encompass ensuring the successful attainment of project goals and objectives. This position will entail
supporting complex projects and fostering collaborative networks involving multiple teams, community health
centers, academic health systems, health departments, and various public health entities, in addition to other
stakeholders. The person in this role is expected to take ownership of their responsibilities and demonstrate a
willingness to think innovatively in addressing the public health challenges confronting the populations served by
community health centers.
Essentials Duties:
- Collaborate with AllianceChicago leadership to pursue public health initiatives, apply for related funding,
- Lead the creation of project charters, project plans and other documentation as well as provide day-to-day
- Ensure necessary agreements are in place for new initiatives (e.g., contracts with partners, data use
- Prepare for and facilitate internal and external interviews, meetings, and larger convenings as
- Facilitate collaboration between internal staff and external stakeholders and ensure appropriate workflows
- Coordinate activities associated with ongoing and forthcoming public health initiatives, which may range
collaborations.

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to research and learn how to use new platforms such as SmartSheet, Jira, and others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Education/Training/Expertise:
• Bachelor’s degree in social, behavioral, health sciences, or public health and 5 years of experience; or
master’s degree in public health or related field and 3 years of project or program coordination
experience.
- Prior work experience in a healthcare or public health related organization preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Subject to AllianceChicago work location policy, may be remote with some in-person requirements.
- General office setting, extensive telephone and desk work at computer terminal.
- May be required to lift, carry, bend, reach and stand with small parcels up to 25 lbs.
- Will work in a close multidisciplinary team environment.
- Will interface with clients and funders in various settings.
