The Impact You'll Have:
The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department in various administrative and operational functions. This position provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR practices within a dynamic and fast-paced civil engineering firm. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual with an interest in HR processes and recruiting.
Tasks You'll Assist With:
- Support the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing documentation and orientation agendas.
- Assist in the recruitment process by reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate databases.
- Source potential candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed and other job platforms.
- Help in managing employee records and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events.
- Help maintain and update HR databases and systems.
- Conduct research and assist in preparing reports related to HR metrics and trends.
- Participate in HR projects related to employee training and development.
- Provide administrative support to HR staff, including scheduling meetings and preparing meeting agendas.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Prior internship or volunteer experience in HR or a related field is a plus, but not required.

The pay rate for this position is expected to be $21-23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
