Position Overview:
The Hospice Clinical Director will oversee the clinical operations of our hospice program, ensuring that patient care is delivered according to the highest standards. This role involves leadership, clinical expertise, and administrative oversight, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a supportive environment for staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Provide direction and support to the clinical team, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure high-quality care.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review patient care, discuss challenges, and celebrate successes.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies.
- Monitor clinical performance and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct audits and review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Patient Care Oversight:
- Supervise the development and implementation of individualized care plans for patients.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Act as a resource for complex clinical cases and provide guidance on best practices.
- Staff Development & Education:
- Recruit, train, and mentor clinical staff to maintain a high standard of care.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education to develop continuing education programs and ensure staff are up-to-date with the latest clinical practices.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Community Engagement:
- Represent the organization in the community and with external partners.
- Participate in community outreach and educational events to promote hospice care and support services.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license to practice in Colorado.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospice or palliative care, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
