SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
At Allied Beverage Group, we believe in continuing our legacy through attracting, developing, and retaining our talent for long-term careers filled with fun and diverse experiences. We are excited that our 2023 Summer Internship program will be in-person at our beautiful Elizabeth, New Jersey facility. Through ABG’s paid summer internship, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience as a valuable contributor to your department’s projects and deliverables. You will also connect with ABG team members in other departments, and complete ABG’s Summer Internship Talent Development Program, sponsored by the Department of Learning & Development.
Responsibilities
AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS
The candidate’s potential placement(s) will be communicated during the interview process. In your cover letter, please indicate your first and second preference of internships. See descriptions below:
Commercial Finance Intern:
- Develop a strong understanding of Allied Beverage Group’s Commercial Finance Department
- Produce and distribute reports against key performance indicators and initiatives
- Analyze and develop commercial insights and course of actions based on reports
- Present and discuss insights and course of actions to internal stakeholders
Human Resources Intern:
- Assist with the implementation and migration of HR documents to our newly acquired Document Cloud system with ADP
- Become acclimated with the Document Cloud system and our current folder hierarchy as it resides on the HR share drive
- Create applicable folders (personal info, medical info, disciplinary, benefits, etc.) on Document Cloud for every active Associate in ADP
- Properly rename documents (for consistency across all Associates) that will be migrated to Document Cloud from our HR share drive
- Migrate each Associates’ documents from the HR share drive to the corresponding folder in ADP starting with those that have the most sensitive information (personal and medical info)
IT Help Desk Intern:
- Work with the IT Infrastructure Team to assist the helpdesk in maintaining end user hardware and software
- Work with Departmental management on appropriate and applicable special projects
- Work with IT management to assist with departmental administration
- Respond to assigned helpdesk tickets
- Assist in stakeholder communications
- General Administrative tasks
- Special projects as assigned
Marketing Analyst Intern:
- Reporting & Analysis of key internal and external supplier KPIs – canned reports
- Run ad-hoc reports for both internal and supplier managers to analyze sales as well as identify opportunities
- Conduct research & analysis of Risk & Opportunities
- Assist in the preparation for presentations & Suppliers Meeting Reports (White Sheets)
On-Premise Intern:
- Develop a strong understanding of Allied Beverage Group’s On-Premise Department.
- In conjunction with the On-Premise New Accounts Director, assist in project managing the creation of the New Account Tool Box for Sales Representatives
- Attend meetings with the New Accounts Department to define the tool’s needs
- Work within the On-Premise management team to build interactive templates for new accounts
- Build a comprehensive wine brand sheet for internal and external use
- Assist in the training process for ABG associates on the New Account Tool Box
Portfolio Management Intern - Marketing:
- Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to create a strategic marketing plan for a new product launch
- Manage inventory for Rose & Ready-to-Drink portfolios
- Create marketing assets and communications for Core Objective brands
- Build pricing structures and complete reporting
- Attend sales meetings and brand/supplier trainings
- Work on department Marketing Manual
Safety and Security Intern:
- Become familiar with Allied Beverage Group access control system, learning how access groups are developed and assigned
- Become familiar with Allied Beverage Group closed circuit TV recording system. Learn how to trouble shoot system issues
- Working with the Security manager, learn how incident investigations are conducted internally
- Become familiar with the practice of physical security and delivery of relevant security briefings
- Assist with the creation and registration of ID badges
Sales Intern:
- Manage and serve as the project lead for “The Big Bet Summer Sales Initiative”
- This Intern will lead both qualitative and quantitative program communication with internal team members
- Assist in partnering with key supplier leads
- Establish a sales calendar focus window for blitz planning and unique tool execution
- Conduct Work-Withs for Sales Representatives focusing on “back to basic pillars”
- Coordinate drink menu development with Graphics Department
- Assist in coordinating cross functional support with marketing, purchasing, and other internal departments
- Summarize business results and present business impact summary at completion of program
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be:
- A current undergraduate or graduate
- Junior, Senior, or graduate student preferred
- Able to reliably commute to our campus in Elizabeth, New Jersey
- Able to work from 8:30am - 5pm EST beginning June 5th, 2023. This paid 8-week internship is a 4-day, 30-hour work week. The actual work schedule will be determined by the hiring
- Able to legally work in the United
- Adept at Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel,
- Adept at Microsoft Teams, WebEx and Zoom conferencing software.
- Possesses:
- A professional demeanor
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Wine & spirits retail or hospitality experiences is a
- Cumulative GPA of 0 or higher is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in English is required for the internship program.
