JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will play a key role in administering the company benefits programs, fostering a positive work environment through effective employee relations, and coordinating company events. This role ensures compliance with relevant regulations, maintains strong communication with employees, and promotes engagement and collaboration across the company.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administers employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision insurance, life and disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives
- Acts as the primary contact for benefits-related inquires and issues
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA)
- Collaborates with insurance broker and Director of Human Resources to evaluate, recommend, and implement benefit enhancements
- Maintains benefits-related metrics for leadership review
- Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and HR policies
- Conducts investigations into employee complaints or policy violations
- Fosters a positive organizational culture by addressing concerns proactively and equitably
- Works closely with Director of Human Resources on engagement and satisfaction initiatives
- Plans and coordinates location-specific and company-wide meetings, team building activities and recognition programs
- Manage budgets and logistics for all events, ensuring alignment with company goals and values
- Partner with internal teams to promote and communicate event details effectively
- Evaluate event success and gather feedback to improve future initiatives
- Partners with Director of Human Resources on Community Service Committee leadership
- Plans and executes community service initiatives with consideration of company core values
- Manages administrative Human Resources departmental duties
- Provide direct supervision to Human Resources Coordinator and Receptionist
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or SHRM-CP preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience with increasing responsibility. Must have experience in the key areas of HR supporting the business: handling employee relations, benefits administration, and event coordination
- Management experience of 1or more team members
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Products
- Experience with ADP WorkforceNow Platform is preferred
- Tactful, diplomatic, confidential and the highest level of integrity.
- Strong leadership with demonstrated skills and ability to coach and develop others.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in an independent manner, using independent judgment and an understanding of strategic and tactical business needs.
Physical Requirements
- 80% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing
- 20% Travel and/or commuting to other Allied offices and job sites
Must complete a drug test, background and have a valid D.L.
