GENERAL SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Program Manger of the WWSR, is responsible to provide direct management support for the operations on the WWSR (42) bed ICF / MR facility. Directs WWSR Supervisory and Resident Assistant staff in the completion of programs responsibilities and the provision of all residential and active treatment services. A minimum of fifty (50) percent of work time is spent in direct resident contact. Number of full time equivalent employee : reporting to the position directly (38) thirty-eight.
Type of supervision exercised : full. Jobs reporting to this position : 38.
EDUCATION :
Bachelors degree in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
Three (3) years professional experience or supervisory in nature with developmentally disabled or cognitively / mentally challenged individuals.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS :
Current valid PA driver's license required. Routine and unscheduled travel required to fulfill responsibilities, i.e. resident programming, transport, and appointments. Sight, hearing and speech sufficient to effectively communicate with residents. Good interpersonal skills. Must pass post job offer pre-placement physical exam, child abuse criminal background check and initial and subsequent annual T.B. screening.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Individual must be able to meet established specific physical requirements of the job, (lifting; minimum 50 lbs. frequent twisting, squatting, and bending. Assists with resident transfers to and form wheelchairs, beds, toilet facilities, ambulation difficulties and seizures). IN addition, physical requirement related to implement Individual Behavior Plans (IBP's) and crisis intervention are required i.e. physical redirection, restraint and techniques for protection of self and others. ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS :
Occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
Responsibilities as outlined above. Frequent work in and around bathroom / shower areas where floors may become wet.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Residential setting with Developmentally Disabled individuals, Indoor and outdoor activities, all season. Sometimes noisy and distracting environment.
