Summary:
With little direction and oversight, the Birth Tissue Acquisition Coordinator determines how to build relationships with physicians, hospital staff, and other medical professionals to develop and increase donation opportunities. They also independently travel to hospitals to consent, screen, and acquire birth tissue. The Birth Tissue Acquisition Coordinator coordinates packaging, shipping, and delivery of blood samples and birth tissue to the designated places.
Anticipated Application Deadline: February 4, 2025 (1:00PM MST)
Pay: $62,973.24/yr - $72,660.00 based upon relevant years of experience
Additional Pay: $6,000 car allowance paid in biweekly installments
Shift: Monday -Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm (hospital-based position in the Denver Metro area)

Location: Hospital-based position in the Denver Metro Area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the relationships and specific needs of hospital staff, donors and physicians. Acts as a partner to increase referrals to ensure donation potential and to grow and support current business opportunities.
- Fully understands, explains, and performs legal consent for birth mothers.
- Regularly exercises independent judgment and the use of discretion to makes decisions regarding acquisition of tissue through fully understanding the eligibility criteria.
- Screens donors for shipment to other processors as needed.
- Completes lab requisition process for blood samples procured and uploads applicable documentation from birth tissue acquisitions. Packs donated birth tissue, birth mother blood samples, and applicable documentation. Responsible for making arrangements to transport tissue from hospital facilities to AlloSource or appropriate destination in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Performs follow-up with birth tissue donors and is responsible for developing/educating them as future advocates to increase birth tissue donation.
- Stocks hospitals with adequate supplies for birth tissue acquisition and blood collection.
- Reviews, documents, and files temperature monitoring records. Works with peers to determine any patterns of deficiencies and devises plans for correction.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays) based on business need.
- Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies.
- May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years’ experience within a medical health related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate in English proficiently (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension)
- Must maintain a valid driver's license for the assigned territory area with acceptable driving history* and a minimum of $100,000 personal liability insurance coverage if operating a personal or rental vehicle for Company business. (*Subject to yearly review of MVR and acknowledgment of Vehicle Policy)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the review and interpretation of medical records
- Experience screening donors for blood/cord blood, tissue/eye, or plasma donation
- Experience in a hospital setting or labor & delivery
